Opening sequences and Setting - Conclusion

Through my analysis, I have identified key purposes of opening sequences, irrespective of the genre. The purpose being the introduction of the setting to the audience. A filmmaker will often show the isolation of a setting to create unpleasant or negative connotations about the location.

I will certainly consider the foreground settings in my opening sequence, dependent on the genre I choose to work within.
